For foreigners who wants to work in a registered company in Indonesia, we recommend you the Working KITAS.

With the company legal documents, a working KITAS can be applied by foreigners with an additional government fees USD 1,200 in annual work permit fees and USD 150 for the stay permit.

There are two types of investor KITAS available. Index 313 which allows investors to stay in the country for up to one year, and Index 314 that offers up to two years validity. Both allow its holder to enter and leave the country multiple times.

Requirements:

  • Original valid passport with validity min 18 months
  • Current visa validity must be at least 60 days
  • Entry stamp/current visa stamp
  • Fully vaccination digital certificate

Processing time:

  • 38 – 45 working days for onshore application

Proces:

  • After the e-Visa issued, we will forward it to your email and you can enter Indonesia accordingly. The e-Visa will be valid for 90 days for the visa holder to use it enter Indonesia.
  • Once you arrived in Indonesia, we will require the original passport to be submitted to Immigration office to get the e-KITAS.
  • You can apply for extension at least 7 working days before current visa expired

Offshore Application:

Requirements :

  • Scan of valid passport with validity min 30 months
  • Fully vaccination digital certificate
  • Domicile letter (can be done after arrival in Indonesia)
  • Details and documents of company sponsor such as Article of association by public notary, Legalize article of association by law and human right ministry, Domicile letter, Company tax registration number, Business registration number, Business License, company letterhead, company stamp.

Processing time :

  • 21 - 30 working days
  • After the e-Visa issued, we will forward it to your email and you can enter Indonesia accordingly. The e-Visa will be valid for 90 days for the visa holder to use it enter Indonesia.
  • Once you arrived in Indonesia, we will require the original passport to be submitted to Immigration office to get the e-KITAS
  • You can apply for extension at least 7 working days before current visa expired

What is Work Permit (IMTA)

For foreigners hired to work in Indonesia, the IMTA is designed. You can work in Indonesia if you have this kind of permit. You must receive your stay permission, also known as a KITAS (Kartu Izin Tinggal Terbatas), after obtaining an IMTA.

Who can obtain a work visa?

You must hold a position with an Indonesian-registered business that will sponsor your IMTA in order to receive one. This organization may be an Indonesian-owned firm, a representative office, or a foreign-owned company (PMA). Remember that foreigners cannot hold the following positions:


Human resource

Quality control and inspection

Legal

Supply chain management

Health, safety,
& environment affairs

What are the requirements to obtain a work visa .

Documents provided by you:
  • Company Name Check
  • Drafting of Article of Association by Public Notary (AKTA Notaris)
  • Submission of AKTA to Ministry of Law and Human Rights (SK Menkumham)
  • Approval and collection of your Company Incorporation (PT PMA) documents from SK Menkumham

Company sponsor documents :

  • Company’s deed of establishment and its amendments (if any)
  • Approval from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (MoLHR) of company sponsor / SK Kehakiman Pendirian Perusahaan dan Perubahannya (if any)
  • Certificate of Domicile (SKDU) of company sponsor
  • Business license (SIUP) / principle license (Izin Prinsip/IP) / permanent business license (Izin Usaha Tetap/IUT)
  • Certificate of company registration (TDP)
  • ID Card (KTP) of the Indonesian director of company sponsor as guarantor, or passport of the foreign director
  • Blank papers with the company’s letterhead; (for application letters)
  • Mandatory Manpower Report (Wajib Lapor Ketenagakerjaan) of company sponsor
  • Employment contract
  • Company’s bank account information or statement – minimum balance USD1,500
  • Other documents depending on the case and type of entity

How to apply for IMTA & KITAS. .

Approval for pre-IMTA /
pre-working permits .

  • Your employer will apply to the local manpower department for permission to hire foreign labor.
  • After that, the Ministry of Manpower will arrange a meeting with your employer.
  • If the interview goes well, the Ministry will accept the application and let you and your employer know how long you can stay (depending on the sort of employment).

IMTA/Work Permit Approval .

  • DKP-TKA (Development Funds in Exchange of Hiring a Foreign Worker) advanced payment of $100 per month is required prior to IMTA approval.
  • IMTA endorsement. Currently, you are able to legally work in Indonesia.

VITAS Approval .

  • VITAS application for a temporary visa
  • When the VITAS is approved, the Indonesian Immigration Office in Jakarta issues the approval and telexes it to the Indonesian consulate abroad.
  • The VITAS approval procedure requires about five working days.
  • The Indonesian embassy abroad issues VITAS.
  • VITAS must be personally collected before entering Indonesia.

Work visa conversion from VITAS to KITAS using MERP

You have 30 days after your arrival in Indonesia to change your VITAS visa to a KITAS work visa. While the conversion is taking place, you are not permitted to leave the country; if you do, your VITAS will no longer be valid.

Process biometric information in person at the airport immigration or immigration office


If all paperwork is in order, the procedure takes about eight business days.


Once granted, KITAS and MERP (multiple exit/re-entry permit) are now accessible online as records. Your KITAS and MERP will both last for the same amount of time.

Civil reporting and registration

Within 14 days of receiving your KITAS, you must complete this step, which is required. To complete this final prerequisite for your legal stay in Indonesia, our team of professionals will prepare all the necessary documents and accompany you to the Civil Administration Department.
