Collaboration between InvestinAsia and COYLE Aids Sri Lankan Entrepreneurs in Investing in Indonesia

In an effort to boost foreign investment, the legal service platform InvestinAsia has once again forged a partnership with foreign business entities. This time, the collaboration is with investors from Sri Lanka.

The collaboration commenced coinciding with the “International Business Matching” event held at the vOffice Event Space, Centennial Tower, South Jakarta on September 23, 2023. This event brought together various business entities from Sri Lanka, represented by the Chamber Of Young Lankan Entrepreneurs (COYLE).

Organized by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Indonesia, the event also facilitated meetings between business players from various industries, ranging from FMCG to automotive.

The collaboration between InvestinAsia and Sri Lankan business entities aims to identify mutually beneficial business opportunities between Indonesia and Sri Lanka, which can be further explored to drive the growth of investment in both countries.

COYLE representative Rasith Wickramasingha revealed that Sri Lankan entrepreneurs see significant opportunities to do business in Indonesia, ranging from its growing consumer market, natural resources, to its strategic location. However, they also encounter several challenges.

“Entrepreneurs involved in business activities or investments in Indonesia may face challenges such as complex regulations, cultural differences, and potential bureaucratic hurdles. Understanding and adapting to the local business culture and ensuring compliance with diverse regulations are also challenges. Additionally, political and economic uncertainties can affect the stability of the business environment. Accurate assessments and partnerships with local entities can help address these challenges,” Rasith explained.

Furthermore, Rasith hopes that collaboration with InvestinAsia can bring transparent communication, help adapt to diverse work styles, and foster a willingness to build strong interpersonal relationships. “Building trust is crucial. That’s what will bring success,” he added.

In the future, InvestinAsia will provide legal support to investors from Sri Lanka interested in investing in Indonesia. Not only that, the investment process will be facilitated by providing comprehensive information on business regulations, legal procedures, and investment requirements in Indonesia.

With a focus on identifying potential business opportunities, this partnership will also help expand business networks between Indonesia and Sri Lanka, encouraging the creation of strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and other collaborations in various economic sectors.

Collaboration with Sri Lanka is not InvestinAsia’s first international partnership. Previously, InvestinAsia has also partnered with the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) to enhance foreign investment from Hong Kong.

Through collaboration with Sri Lankan business players, it is hoped that broader synergy with other countries can be fostered in the future.
